That’s sadly a lie. I like buying things for other people, spending more money than i need to on a few close friends but most of all I like sitting around watching movies and eating junk for 2-3 days. This year I can only do the spending part . Portland, who never gets snow, is grossly unprepared for snow. By now in most cities that get snow every eyar, the freeways and streets would be cleared regularly and you wouldnt need chains to get to the damn grocery store. We cant even get out of the driveway let alone to my moms for xmas. In fact, its so sure that im just not meant to go, that they dont even make chains for my roommates tires.

I usually wouldnt complain, I’ve spent many a xmas alone, or with strangers, I have kwanza wrapping paper and dradel vision glasses (you see 2 dradels on lights when its dark), and I dont care which one I “celebrate” I just want my 3 days off and a reason to make cookies, brownies, cupcakes and eat unhealthy things with gusto. I suppose I could do what I want to do here at home but how boring will that be.. I’ll have a pile of holiday junkfood I’ll only eat a portion of, dumb holiday movies my roommate wont want to watch (my mom will watch anything 1000 times with me), no present openings (not that I have half my presents thanks to lazy snow-fearing mailmen). PLUS Chena wont get an xmas either, my favorite part is watching her give herself a hear attack helping us open presents and opening a shre of her own, flailing paper and boxes about, its the cutest thing in the wntire world. One more reason to hate Portland I guess, they deal with their problems by sitting back and waiting for them to melt.
